“You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.” ― Rumi
Widely misinterpreted, in this etymologically structured sentence, Rumi is giving a definition to atom, molecules and the universe. On top of that, he is referring to quantum physics in a sense that everything that contains a part of the whole is the whole so we are all one and equal because we carry the core of our creator.
If you want to go deep with me right now, in Sufism, the human is considered to be the most intellectual and the most precious of the beings in the whole universe. Because human is so valuable within its soul, it contains a “unique love” that only belongs to the creator. In that sense, a human being is bigger than the sun, the moon, the solar system, and the entire galaxy because we have the power to contain them in our soul; like an ocean in a drop.
Self reaching out for the Divine, but the self already contains the divine within and its all aspects.
Therefore a human being contains all the universe and the Divine within…
